Ever listen to recordings of the old “Green Hornet” radio show? Part of the introduction went, “He hunts the biggest of all game: public enemies that even the G-Men cannot reach!” Writing the previous entry, I was thinking of the action-hero effect that McCain was going for in running back to Washington, and how badly he failed to achieve it. I think a reworked Green Hornet intro could have worked wonders. Just before he entered a room, any room, a deep-voiced announcer would have boomed, “He hunts the biggest of all game: public officials that even the G-Men cannot reach!” Just that bit of scene-setting and what was actually a bravura act of political desperation would have gone over big.

…You have to admit that those look a lot like McCain’s eyebrows above that mask.
