While I agree with you that the Lewinsky story lingered for far too long, and the impeachment proceedings were a farce, this was not the kind of thing that was going to just go away. President Clinton took a minor infraction, infidelity, and made things immeasurably worse by perjuring himself. Whatever one thinks of the man (I love him), when a President perjures himself on national TV, it IS a story. Mr. Goldman, I have to disagree with you a bit.
